Many people in their 30s today find themselves grappling with challenges that their parents - even in their 20s - seemed to overcome with relative ease.
From the rising cost of living, to stagnant wages and being locked out of the housing market, it is increasingly difficult for young people to get on the property ladder.
In the past, people in their 20s were able to embark on their adult journeys with a sense of optimism and financial stability.
It was common for them to secure stable jobs - and remain in them until retirement - purchase homes, and even start families at a younger age.
The financial landscape of previous generations was markedly different; housing was more affordable, salaries were more in line with living costs, and the prospect of economic stability seemed achievable within a reasonable timeframe.
Young adults now face soaring housing prices that seem to grow higher with each passing year. The dream of owning a home, once a milestone of adulthood, has become an increasingly distant goal for many.
Today’s 30-somethings often encounter the strain of juggling student loans, high rent costs, and everyday expenses, leaving little room for savings or long-term investments.
The high cost of living has pushed many to delay major life milestones such as purchasing a home, starting a family, or even achieving financial independence - all while the rate of emigration is constantly on the rise among young professionals.
There is a serious need for changes to address these pressures and to create opportunities that align more closely with the aspirations of modern generations.
