Popular QI host and funny man Stephen Fry has revealed in an interview that he attempted to take his own life last year.
The host took a combination of vodka and pills which caused his body to convulse so much, he broke four ribs, according to Digital Spy.
"It was a close-run thing. Fortunately the producer - I was filming at the time - came into the hotel room and I was found in an unconscious state and taken back and looked after,” Fry told the Leicester Square Podcast.

"You may say, 'How can anybody who's got it all be so stupid as to want to end it all?' That's the point, there is no 'why?' That's not the right question. There is no reason. If there was reason for it, you could reason someone out of it."
The actor continued: "When I'm conscious, when I'm rational, I realise that being Stephen Fry is a very happy thing to be; people are extraordinarily nice to me. Mostly it's great, but there are times when you're on stage or when I'm doing QI and laughing [on the outside], but inside I'm going 'I want to f**king die'."
Fry has spoken in the past about his battle with depression and admitted that he often has suicidal thoughts.
