Flash mobs, music video, faked plane crashes (no, really)… we’ve seen our fair share of unusual wedding proposals.
One of the more time-honoured traditions, though, is to take your would-be fiancé back to the place you first met, stirring up all those old feelings while you prepare to pop the question.
For business consultant Curt Buthman, that place was the World Wide Web – Twitter, to be precise.

While his girlfriend Marsha Collier, an author, was hosting a chat on the social networking site under the hashtag #custerv, Buthman chimed in with a Tweet that read: “@marshacollier I love you! ?#WillYouMarryMe”. His also included a Vine video, so Marsha could see and hear him say the words… so romantic. She Tweeted a happy yes in return.
Despite the box, the ring is not from Macy’s. Buthman later confirmed that the sparkler was a family heirloom but the box was handy and lying around. We’re hoping that the happy couple at least get a hefty Macy’s voucher for all the attention, while one American airline was quick to offer some honeymoon help. Sponsored proposals… this is just the beginning.
