It was another thrilling weekend of camogie action.

Galway continued their winning streak in this year’s Liberty Insurance senior camogie championship, driving home to a 4-16 to 0-12 win over Limerick.

The Tribeswomen hit a hugely impressive 4-15 from play, and despite a phenomenal performance from Limerick’s Niamh Mulcahy, who scored 0-10 on the day, it was not enough in the face of a strong Galway side.

Elswhere, Alison Maguire was the star of the show as Dublin ran out 0-12 to 0-8 point winners over Derry at the weekend.

Maguire notched seven points from frees to keep the women in blue ahead, as a tense and close first half affair saw them up by just one point at the break, 0-5 to 0-4.

However, their accuracy in front of the posts combined with a dominant sweeper system helped the Dubs to victory.

In the other games, Clare will be looking to regroup after a defeat to Tipperary, on a 2-18 to 0-11 point scoreline. The Banner county will need a big win over Derry next week to bag third place in Group 2, while Tipp powered to second place on the back of the win.

It was Cáit Devane who was the stand out performer from this game, bagging a fantastic 0-12 points, eight of which came from play, while for Clare, Chloe Morey put in a solid performance slotting over seven points for her side.

Wexford meanwhile have set up a quarter-final showdown against either Clare or Dublin by overcoming All-Ireland champions Cork 0-13 to 0-10 in a thriller.

Strong shooting from Kate Kelly set Wexford up for a win in what was a pulsating game of camogie.

In the intermediate championship, Galway were too strong for Down to win on a final scoreline of 3-7 to 0-10, Cork overcame Wexford 0-17 to 0-3, Kilkenny had the better of Antrim 2-15 to 1-9, while in the Junior A championship Carlow overcame Clare 0-19 to 1-8.
