We have one question: what on earth is going on with Ireland’s weather lately? If you thought yesterday marked the end of March’s crazy weather, think again as Met Eireann has revealed that it’s about to get even more unpredictable. Great.
The Irish Daily Star reports that freezing cold winter temperatures are expected to continue this week with some parts of the country experiencing drops as low as -5?C.
According to weather boffins, Ireland’s current spell of unpredictable showers, snow, sleet, rain and sunshine is very “unusual” for this time of year. However, more wintry showers are expected today and for the rest of the week.
The small consolation is that temperatures will start to rise a little by the time next weekend rolls around.

The temperatures may rise but we'll still be stuck with rain (as usual!)
“Temperatures at night will be several degrees below freezing in many areas between 0?C and -5?C,” said a forecaster from Met Eireann.
“There is a risk of snowfall in higher ground, but this will met during the day,” the forecaster added.
The good news is that over Easter we’re unlikely to have any snow or freezing cold temperatures, so at least we won’t be huddled by the fire as we munch our Easter eggs.
“From Thursday on we expect milder weather with wet and windy conditions,” said the forecaster.
We’ll happily take some rain as long as it means that we don’t have to put up with ice, snow and sleet!
