In the aftermath of George Michael’s death, stories about the singer’s generosity and spirit continue to multiply.
The most touching of which is the story of Jo Maidment and her IVF treatment.
Jo appeared on This Morning today to explain that she originally appeared on This Morning years ago to talk about IVF treatment and how she had been refused treatment has her partner had a child with a previous partner.
When George saw the original show, his PA anonymously called producers and offered to donate the money for the family to have treatment.
At that point, Jo was still unaware that the donor was George Michael.
Unfortunately, the treatment wasn’t successful and Jo sadly suffered a miscarriage. Thankfully, Jo and her husband had embryos frozen and they saved up enough money to complete the cycle a year later.
This time it resulted in complete happiness and Jo gave birth to baby Betsy in 2012.
It was only after Betsy’s arrival that Joe realised the mystery donor was George Michael.
