If you were going about your daily business and happened upon a wallet with over €4,000 inside, what would you do?
Well, one California woman decided to do the sound thing when she found a huge amount of cash in the car park of the shopping centre where she works in a bagel cafe.
According toABCNews, Starla Beltran found a wallet so full of notes that it wasn't able to close and was tempted to use the money to solve some of her own financial problems.
"I slept on it, and the next day, I thought, what if it was me who lost that?" Beltran said. "When I looked at the ID in the wallet, I realised the address for the owner was right down the street from my house, so I went over there the next day."
The owner of the wallet, Tony Sumahit said he barely slept after losing the cash, which he was going to use to put a down payment on a car. He gave Beltran a reward to thank her.
Beltran added: "If I kept the money and got a car or something, I definitely wouldn't have the type of joy I have now."
