Woman spots dead husband in promo video for Indian restaurant

Her husband passed away in 2014!

An Indian restaurant’s Facebook page has been flooded with comments after a woman claimed to have spotted her husband in a promotional video – even though he died in 2014.

Spice Cottage, in the village of Westbourne, West Sussex, uploaded the video last week with the caption “New year, new mood”.

Diners can be seen tucking into meals as waiters attend to customers in the clip, which ends with a round of applause for the staff.

But the comments took a surprising twist after one woman wrote in with a rather peculiar concern.

Lucy Watson commented: “How old is the footage? My late husband and his son are on the first shot and he died in 2014??”

A reply from the restaurant said: “Hi Lucy, sorry to hear this. This footage was recorded last week”

It has now had more than 100 responses from social media users, who swapped theories about the bizarre mystery.

One said: “Lucy Watson we need an update! Was his body ever found, or just a canoe?”

The joker was making a reference to the story of John Darwin, who faked his death for a life insurance scam by disappearing in his canoe in 2002 in an event that was recently made into an ITV television series.

Plenty of people responded with their own puns.

One said: “He wasn’t dead. He was just in a korma.”

While another said: “I was there on this day and the flat bread that I ordered arrived after our main course, it was my late naan.”

A third person chimed in: ‘What a saaga!’

Watson and the venue did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Mail.
