Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, from Mexico, turns 127 today.
Her family claim chocolate is one of the secrets to her long life which sounds like a pretty good reason to keep eating the sweet stuff. They also believe the fact Leandra always kept busy contributed to her good health.
"She was always a woman who fought. She was still sewing and weaving until about two years ago," granddaughter Miriam Alvear (43) "told El Horizonte. "She never ceased to be active, that’s why we think she’s lived so long".
The Mexican woman was born on 31 August 1887 and reportedly fought in the 1910-1917 Mexican Revolution as a leader of the Adelitas, heading up a group of women who went with their husbands to battle.
Authorities in Mexico are currently working on getting Leandra a new birth certificate after she lost her original one over 40 years ago.
