In an interview with Vox, Broaddrick confirmed that she sent the tweet and explained that she decided to make the allegation again because of Hillary's high visibility in the run-up to the election.
She said: "I guess it was just seeing them on TV so much now, and her [Hillary] with the Benghazi [hearing]. ‘That was impossible, to watch her during that, and now having to see her on the TV, and on the TV campaigning –
"That was impossible, to watch her during that, and now having to see her on the TV, and on the TV campaigning – it’s torture. I have to grab and switch my TV every time I turn around."
Although Broaddrick only tweeted this week, her historic allegation has haunted Hillary's campaign, reports CNN.
When Hillary tweeted, "Every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed and supported", users replied "*cough* Juanita Broaddrick *cough*".
