This woman’s health app tracked the moment she was attacked

Laura Holland

This is terrifying.

A woman was out for a run in Seattle when she was attacked and the whole thing was documented on her health tracking app.

Kelly Herron was out running and needed to go to the bathroom so she stopped into a public toilet. A man was waiting in the cubicle and attempted to attack her.

She had just taken a self-defense class and was able to defend herself and fight back. She managed to escape his clutches and alert the police.

All the while, her health tracking app caught the whole struggle by using GPS. She shared the results on Instagram and it’s pretty scary.

Along with the photo, she said:

“My biggest running nightmare became reality- 4 miles into my long run Sunday afternoon, I stopped to use the restroom and was assaulted by a man hiding in a stall (that is my GPS in red lines).

I fought for my life screaming(“Not today, M**F**er!”), clawing his face, punching back, and desperately trying to escape his grip- never giving up. I was able to lock him in the bathroom until police arrived.

Thankfully I just took a self-defense class offered at my work and utilized all of it. My face is stitched, my body is bruised, but my spirit is intact.”
