The world is a place where everyone’s body image is constantly hurt by the pressure felt by many people to conform to a certain image standard.
Not only is this unhealthy, it’s also impossible for everyone to look the same.
For example, there are countless products out there targeted mostly at women to get rid of cellulite.
Not everyone knows that cellulite is present in over 90% of women, even those who are of the socially celebrated slender body type.
All this talk of thigh gaps, iPhone thighs and other ridiculous ways to bring women down and make them compete with each other is truly exhausting.
That’s why it’s so great to see a Twitter trend like #ThighReading which began with two users @PrincessLabia and @EmoSlut, and has been making the rounds today.
Stretch marks, scars, cellulite. These aren’t imperfections, it’s just what happens when you’re living in a body that is constantly changing.
