Wonderlights is coming to Dublin and it’s the festive experience you won’t want to miss

Cathy Donohue

Wonderlights is coming to Dublin and we are extremely excited.

Anyone who has been to Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo knows what a special experience it is and we’re delighted to say there’s another light-filled wonderland on the way.

Johnstown, Kildare is the designated location for Wonderlights and at first glance, it looks like it’s going to be a must-see.

Featuring animal light installations with “an enchanting night walk experience”, it’s one for all the family – yes, we’re big kids and we know it.

The multi-sensory trail is 2km in length and is both wheelchair and pram accessible.

Here’s what the official description has to say:

“Wonderlights captures the imagination and transports you into a world of enchantment. See the woodland come alive with 1000’s of lights, stunning visuals and projections to create a unique atmospheric backdrop for an evening stroll”.

The aim is to highlight the “local countryside, wildlife and Irish folklore” and it’s sure to be a popular activity in the run-up to Christmas.

Wonderlights kicks off on October 25 for a limited run and with “lights, stunning visuals and projections”, it’s sure to sell out in record time.

There’s also a complimentary funfair for kids and a café allowing for those all important-cosy hot chocolates, sounds like the perfect evening really.

Taking place in Palmerstown House Estate, tickets will go on sale on September 17 so mark the date in your diary now.
