Some weeks go by so slow, and all you want to do is cut them short. Even by a Tuesday you might be taking a hit, feeling tired and rundown and just not able. Well, a workplace in New Zealand tried out a 4-day week and it made its employees way happier. But, not only did it make them happier, it made them more productive, too. The report, which was arranged by the University of Auckland and the Auckland University of Technology, saw that that the work week was cut by 20 percent, going from 37.5 hours to 30 hours. From this, there was no drop down in work, people were less stressed and staff were more engaged in the company. The 240 staff members also worked harder and were more consistent. Commitment and empowerment was also majorly increased. The financial services company, Perpetual Guardian, also didn't cut any of the employees' salary - as the same amount of work was still being done. Tammy Barker, branch manager for the company told the Guardian: "We've been treated like adults and I think as a result everyone is behaving like adults." So far, Perpetual Guardian has been swamped with more than 350 requests for information about the trial from 28 countries.
