We have to think twice before splurging €8 on a tub of our beloved Ben & Jerry’s or Haagen Daaz but it seems that some people are willing to blow the budget when it comes to ice-cream.
Scoopi Café in Dubai is believed to be the home of the most expensive scoop ice-cream in the world, charging $817 for The Black Diamond.
According to The Huffington Post, the sweet treat contains s a scoop of Madagascar vanilla ice cream topped with Italian truffles, Iranian saffron and edible 23-karat gold flakes.
It is served in a Versace bowl, which you can take home… so we we suppose that gives you a little more bang for your buck!
Two customers have already ordered the pricey dessert and shop owner Zubin Doshi said that he believes “Dubai’s increasingly aspirational consumers to readily pay a premium for a superior product”.
