Our parents do a lot for us and most of the time we don’t realise how much they’ve sacrificed until we’re older. This man was so grateful for everything his mother did for him that he started saving money so he could give her the type of ‘thank you’ that she deserved.

The Huffington Post reports that the above YouTube clip, which was originally posted on Monday, has now gone viral.

In the clip, the man expresses his gratitude for his mother and for everything she did for him over the past few years.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for her,” says the man.

“You ask me who my mother is? She’s definitely the strongest person I know,” she added.

According to Reddit.com, the man was making around $30,000 a year and he managed to save up enough money so he could pay off the mortgage on his mother’s house.

Hundreds of people have commented on the video, praising the young man for his thoughtful gesture and his generosity.

“My mother taught me that it is not what you earn, it is what you save for important things is what truly matters and your story is a perfect example of this. Hit me right in the feels,” said one commentor.
