Last night, the X-Factor dreams of Irish singer Melanie McCabe came to an end when she was axed from the X-Factor for a fourth time by Nicole Scherzinger.
Speaking to Colm Hayes on 2FM, McCabe announced that she had been encouraged to continue participating after the show producers told her it would be “her year”.
"I had made the decision not to go ahead and I called them to say it. Then a few minutes later, my phone was buzzing,” Melanie said. "Producers got in touch telling me saying, 'It'd be worth your while'.”

She also told Colm Hayes that she was encouraged to tell her sob story for the show.
"I filled out what I felt I was currently going through, which was losing my house. People are very quick to judge when you're on a show like this."
She revealed to the Irish Independent that even when the girls were flying to Antigua, they were portrayed as flying first class, but were actually placed in economy when filming finished.
Melanie insisted that she would continue on singing and working in the music industry.
