The X Factor has reportedly asked Cork family band Crystal Swing to audition for the upcoming series.
Now, what was the motive behind that? We all spluttered a few giggles the first time we saw Derek, Dervla and Mary Halpin's cheesy performance for She Drinks Tequila.
The Midleton country music family have had the last laugh and they've performed both around the country and internationally since, but it shows X Factor have resorted to a new low.
The Irish Sun reports how an X Factor researcher rang mother Mary Halpin during the week telling her how talented and right for the series they were.
But although Mary wanted to do it, her son and daughter Derek and Dervla had their suspicions and decided it was a "no" for the UK show.
Mary said: “I know it’s terrible but it’s the fear of us being mocked as a family going up there.
“We got a bit of a hard time on Twitter and YouTube earlier on in our career. There were some nasty things said.”

Dervla also said she feared the reaction of the press and audience in the UK. And you're dead right Dervla.
X Factor has lost its original charm, it was a show that set out to find new talent. But somewhere along the way they realised they were probably getting more reaction for the less-talented, more humorous acts that went up on stage.
The acts the researchers are telling backstage that they're going to hit the big time.
Crystal Swing, you made the right decision.
