X Factor star Barclay Beales is said to be "mortified and upset" after a nude photo was released online in an apparent revenge porn attack.
The singer, who is a member of eight-piece boyband Stereo Kicks, is said to have "no idea" how the picture emerged, with
Mirror Online reporting that the image was initially shared on Snapchat before being posted to several different website with the caption 'Vote Barclay'.
“This was a very intimate picture showing a moment behind closed doors around a year ago, which was never expected to see the light of day. But since he became popular on
The X Factor, the photograph seems to have found its way into the public domain and nobody is quite sure how. Barclay is shocked that it has been shared on the Internet," said a source.
“He is desperately hoping it doesn’t go any further than it already has. But he explained the situation to his bandmates, who were very supportive. They’re a very tight-knit group now and these sort of incidents have made them stronger.”
This is the second nude photo scandal to hit the band, with a naked selfie taken by 19-year-old Jake Sims surfacing on Twitter last month.
