For most of us the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air brings back happy memories of growing up in the 90s. However in the States, the harmless tune sparked a county-wide school lockdown after it was mistaken for a shooting threat.
Digital Spy reports that the security scare occurred in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, when a receptionist called a student to confirm an upcoming appointment with his eye doctor.
The call went to Travis Clawson’s voicemail, which featured him rapping along to the famous tune originally performed by Will Smith.
Unfortunately for poor Travis, when he got to the line: “shooting some b-ball outside of the school” the receptionist mistook the lyrics for “shooting people outside of the school.”
The receptionist panicked and immediately rang the police, who advised all schools in the area to go into lockdown while they searched for Clawson.

Who knew a TV theme song could cause so much trouble?
Travis was found in the guidance office of his school and was taken into custody. We imagine the police were left seriously red-faced when the teenager explained the misunderstanding.
“I believe everyone acted appropriately. Our first concern is the safety of kids,” said James Mann, the acting police chief at the time of the incident.
However, Travis’ dad was less impressed:
“An innocent young man was embarrassed. How is he supposed to go back to school and face his classmates?” he said.
Travis was released without charge however he was urged by the police to change the message on his voicemail in order to avoid any future mix-ups.
