You can rent Harry Potter’s childhood home on Airbnb and our next trip is sorted

Keeley Ryan

Calling all Harry Potter fans: You can now rent the Boy Who Lived’s childhood home on Airbnb.

No, we’re not talking about where he lived with the Dursley’s. We’re talking about Lily and James Potter’s home in Godric’s Hollow, where Harry spent the first year of his life.

Or, as it is known in the case of the listing, the De Vere House in Lavenham.

“De Vere House is a highly acclaimed former Five Star and Gold Award bed and breakfast accommodation is re-opening now with Air B&B and offers stunning facilities,” the description for the listing reads. “Lavenham is reputedly Britain’s finest medieval village (with over 300 protected heritage properties and appearing as Godric’s Hollow in the Harry Potter films).

“De Vere House is located in the centre of this pretty village and itself offers a wealth of history as well as comfortable accommodation.”

The listing says that it has two four poster bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, as well as TV, wifi internet access, private guest sitting room with log fire and courtyard garden.

However, they note that the listing isn’t suitable for pets, children or people with mobility problems because of the age and the layout of the house.

The rental has a two night minimum stay, with it costing €128 per night. You can see inside De Vere House – or book a stay – here.
