You can rent a whole South American island on Airbnb and we’re booking our tickets already

The property is on the island of Ilha Grande, which is a 15 to 20 minute boat crossing from Portogalo main land harbour. According to the Airbnb listing, it has six bedrooms and 12 beds, each with their own private bathroom - and is suitable for a maximum of 14 guests (we'd imagine this includes crashing on the couch). The listing says it is a "piece of real Brazilian paradise"; a "sophisticated designer house, with exquisite interior decoration with Italian style".   Outside, there are two wooden decks to bask in the sunshine - as well as take in the views during sunset. Canoes and stand-up paddleboards are available to explore the surroundings, with four hammocks are hanging in the veranda for you to rest in the shade. Meals can be enjoyed outdoor under a beautiful ipe tree or by the ocean; as well as inside the house or in the veranda overlooking the sea.

It is also a perfect base for a daily excursion to Paraty, the famous Portuguese colonial harbor used during imperial times for gold trade.
