In Ireland, we tend to moan about the rain on a regular basis. We give out because water falls from the sky and soaks us. However, after seeing this video we’re pretty sure we’ll never complain about the weather again. Ever.
Why? Well, we could have it so much worse. Take for example, the poor people in Brazil, who have to put up with showers of spiders (as opposed to rain).
Yes, believe it or not, in Brazil it’s actually raining spiders. Shudder. This footage, which was posted online last night, shows thousands of the eight-legged-beasts “falling from the sky” in the town of Santo Antonio da Planta.
“Still do not know what causes such behaviour,” writes the video’s uploader on YouTube.
“We are researching and will post the answer to the question here,” he added.
The footage, which was captured by Erick Reis as he was leaving a friend’s engagement party, was looked at by a biologist. The biologist spoke to Brazilian news outlets and confirmed that the spiders were simply living in a massive colony and making a huge “sheet web.”
The biologist stated that the phenomenon was totally “normal.”
This is normal? We’re actually terrified.
