The new sadistic ad trend? It's when brands are putting humans to the stress test, then laughing it all off afterwards.
The latest example is this Carlsberg ad. The beer brand challenged its fans to put their friends to the ultimate test by calling them in the middle of the night with a bit of a problem.
The friends were then told that they needed to deliver money to a specific location. The caller had lost at poker.
The friend, faithful to have come that far, arrives at a gritty building to come across two shirtless guys fighting, shady characters hanging around and a guy eating what looks like a chicken from the bone in the lift.
That's what friends are for, right?
Carlsberg aren't the first to try out the experiement... Heineken had the "worst job interview in the world" a few weeks ago.
