YouTubers try the Victoria's Secret pre-show diet (and the results are grim)

Once a year, some of the most gorgeous women in the world strut their stuff down a very famous catwalk.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the most glamorous fashion shows in the calendar, where the likes of Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo and Lily Aldridge walk the runway in the nicest lingerie you’ve ever seen - oh, and wings.

Every year we sit in front of our screen, mouth open, wishing we looked just a fraction of how amazing these ‘angels’ look.

Well, turns out, it’s not all that easy for them either.

From the ‘vigorous workouts’ to the strict diet that becomes routine, it’s not always the glamorous affair we thought it would be.

And that routine kicks into overdrive in the weeks leading up to the big night. With a nine day meal plan that dieticians say “they wouldn’t recommend to anyone”, the angels put their bodies through the ringer for two hours on the runway.

And for some reason, two YouTubers decided they wanted to try out a similar routine just to see how terrible it was – and it was terrible.

Candace Lowry and Michelle Khare spent nine days adhering to a strict diet and found it, understandably, tough.

Queen Bee of the catwalk, Adriana Lima, says that she only drinks protein shakes made with powdered eggs and a gallon of water the week before the show. Two days before taking to the stage, she would cut down to just a gallon of water a day, and in the 12 hours before show time, she would consumer nothing – NOTHING!
