We have to say, the people of Twitter delivered and came up with some pretty hilarious answers:What's the funniest time your parents banned a piece of pop culture from you? My parents ripped a Sabrina the Teenage Witch comic out of my Disney Adventures magazine

My parents raised me Quaker. I wasn't allowed to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because they fought too much. I had to tiptoe out of my bedroom to watch The Simpsons over their shoulder from behind the couch, because of the Itchy-and-Scratchy-style violence.

Wasn’t allowed to watch the power rangers because it was “too violent” but was alllowed to own the merchandise (pink power ranger hat, action figure, etc.). Was allowed to see Rocky horror picture show and Carrie at age 8 though!

My mom wouldn’t let me watch the birth scene in the Spice Girls movie! We fast forwarded through it.

I really wanted Eminem's Encore CD back in 04. My mom had to buy it and listen to each song and wrote out each song to find all of the swear words, but I was allowed to watch movies like the matrix (7th grade at the time)

My parents thought the Simpsons would foster a disrespect for parental authority. Banned.

I wasn’t allowed to watch the Simpsons until I was 12/13. My mom would call my best friend’s house to remind them I wasn’t allowed and had to sit out in the hallway while their whole family watched it. But my brother could watch it at 10/11 and I was LIVID

Wasn't allowed to watch E.T. because "UFOs and aliens are really just demons trying to deceive us into believing in evolution."

I wasn't allowed to watch the Rugrats growing up because Angelica was too bratty and they didn't want me getting ideas.

Oh, and Pokemon, because some church people said it was about fraternising with demons or some shit
