Almost twenty years after Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton joined forced to make one of the best female-led comedies ever, it looks as though The First Wives Club is headed for Broadway!
The hit 1996 comedy about a trio of ex-wives hell bent on revenge has been rewritten for the stage and is set to debut at Chicago’s Oriental Theater next spring, hopefully landing on Broadway in time for the 2015-2016 season.
The stage version of the story, based on Olivia Goldsmith’s novel, will feature songs from Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland and Eddie Holland, better known as Holland–Dozier–Holland, the Motown legends behind songs like Baby Love, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) and Reach Out I’ll Be There.
