Your complete guide to Indiependence Music and Arts Festival 2017
Wellies at the ready.
For those of you heading to Indiependence Music and Arts Festival this weekend in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, you’re in for a treat.
With a jam packed schedule of great artists, the weekend is bound to be a success.
However, it’s always good to have a bit of a plan, so here’s everything you need to know to get you through the weekend.
If you’re heading along on Friday with the hopes of camping, the campsite is only accessible from 12pm onwards. However, the carpark will open from 10am so feel free to park up and wander into town for a bit.
The fun in the arena will kick off from 5pm.
On Saturday and Sunday, day ticket holders can get access to the site from 2pm onwards, so plenty of time to get a good breakfast in before a long day.
The carpark will open from 1pm on both these days also.
Make sure to check the Indiependence website to see what carpark your ticket gets you access to.
There will be increased security at the festival, as we’ve seen at many other major events over the summer.
Increased security and Garda presence means you should expect to be waiting a little bit longer in queues, so give yourself plenty of time.
All campers will be fully searched when they arrive on site, with dog patrols being used for festival goers' safety.
As we’ve seen throughout the summer, bags bigger than an A4 sheet of paper will not be allowed into the main arena.
Some of these might be common sense but Indiependence have said the following items are prohibited:
- Glass (Over Perfume Bottle Size)
- Gas Canisters
- Disposable BBQs
- Non Prescription Drugs
- Fold Up Chairs (Arena)
- Gazebos are not allowed under any circumstances
- Animals with the exception of guide dogs
- Sound Systems
- Air Horns
- Laser Pens
- Unofficial Tabards or High Viz
- Legal or Illegal “Highs”
