Here’s why Taylor Swift’s latest lyrics are NOT about Calvin Harris

Everyone has jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Everyone has jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Taylor Swift confirmed yesterday that the band Little Big Town have released a song that she wrote. The song is called Better Man and she happily promoted it on her Instagram account.

She said alongside a photo of the band, “Feeling really honored that a band I’ve loved for so many years decided to record this song I wrote. Good luck at #cmaawards @littlebigtown !! Love you guys.”

And even though she isn’t even singing the lyrics, people are suggesting that it’s directed at her ex Calvin Harris.

Especially these lyrics:

“But your jealousy, I can hear it now / You’re talking down to me like I’ll always be around.

“You push my love away like it’s some kind of loaded gun / Boy, you never thought I’d run.

“I know I’m probably better off all alone / Than needing a man who could change his mind at any given minute / And it’s always on your terms.”

While it is very coincidental that a song about an ex would be released a few months after her break up, there has been one detail overlooked. Taylor wrote the song six years ago, long before Calvin was even on the scene.

So there is absolutely no way that it’s about him.
