The Sunday Sessions: Janet Devlin Performs A Cover Of The Cure’s ‘Friday I’m In Love’

The former X Factor star also sang new single Whiskey Lullabies.

Known to most from her appearance on The X Factor, Janet Devlin captured the hearts of the nation with her stunning audition performance of Elton John’s Your Song in 2011.

While she was tipped to win the competition, the then 16-year-old ended up finishing in fifth place and returned to school before finally releasing debut album Running With Scissors in June last year.

Determined to carve a career on her own terms, Devlin financed the release of the album through a crowd-funding initiative on Pledge Music and raised almost twice the desired amount from eager fans.

She has since worked with Joshua Radin, Newton Faulkner and Jack Savoretti and released bi-lingual single Whiskey Lullabies (Suantraí Meisciúl) last month.

Janet recently joined us at The Workman’s Club to record a beautiful version of Whiskey Lullabies, as well as a cover of The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love.
