A Wicklow couple have claimed a 250k Lotto prize after finding the ticket in a bin

close call or WHAT

Imagine the pain of knowing your winning Lotto ticket was in the bin somewhere. Devo.

One lucky Wicklow couple narrowly avoided this very sickening situation and claimed a quarter of a million euro in winnings after finding the lucky ticket in their bin at home.

UTV write that the couple who wishes to remain private and had originally assumed they hadn’t won following Saturday’s draw.

Their suspicions were only raised on Monday evening when they heard that the winning ticket was purchased in Roundwood. Naturally, this saw them sprinting for the bin where they found the recently-trashed Lotto Plus 2 ticket to the National Lottery on Abbey Street this week.

“I got a print out of the results from the newsagent and when I got home, I emptied the bin in the kitchen and found the ticket under all the rubbish from the past two days. We could not believe our luck when the numbers matched up!”

The couple plans on having a ‘small party to celebrate’.

A lesson to everyone to CHECK THEIR BINS, DEAR LORD, PLEASE.
