Temperatures will drop to five degrees below freezing tonight, according to the latest forecast from Met Éireann.
A Status Yellow is currently in place to warn about low temperatures and will run until 10am tomorrow morning.
According to the forecaster, lowest temperatures will be between -1 to -5 degrees Celsius, leading to severe frost.
"Untreated road surfaces and paths will accumulate ice, becoming very slippy and dangerous. Patches of freezing fog may also occur," said a spokesperson.
Up to 5cm of snow is also being predicted for early this week.
