The hurricane, that shares its name with a character from Shakespeare's The Tempest, began in the Bahamas early Thursday morning.
This tweet from CNN shows the high winds and heavy rain coming across the Atlantic Ocean.

The National Hurricane Centre revealed that Hurricane Gonzalo is currently moving northwards at approximately 9 miles per hour.
Sustained winds of up to 140mph (225kph) have been recorded, so it is safe to say to leave the umbrellas where they are, no one wants to be that person…
Although graphs indicate that the storm is headed towards Ireland, it is possible that it may change course and disperse before Tuesday.
