Wright brought the footage to the police and Baynes, as well as two of his co-workers, pleaded guilty to the abuse. He was sentenced to four months behind bars after admitting three counts of ill treatment or neglect of a person who lacks capacity, and another of theft after he was caught stealing Mrs Wright’s food.
"You were employed as carers. This was in breach of a most basic duty of care and humanity which you had all undertaken to perform. Nothing about her behaviour or the environment in which you worked excuses your behaviour against a very vulnerable patient in your care," said Judge Michael Longman.
