Cilla Black’s Three Sons Have Released A Statement

The three sons of beloved showbiz personality Cilla Black have released a joint statement after the cause of her death was confirmed on Tuesday .

Black, 72, died of a stroke. The episode came after she suffered a fall at her Spanish home on Saturday. The coroner for the case confirmed that Cilla was sunbathing at her villa when she stood up, lost her balance and fell. The fall caused the Liverpool native to hit her head, which knocked her unconscious.

The incident prompted the stroke which took her life.

Now, the Blind Date presenter’s three sons Robert, Ben and Jack Willis have released a statement, following confirmation that they have been given permission to return her body to the UK for her funeral.

Tributes to the hugely popular presenter in her home town of Liverpool

“We are devastated by the sad loss of our mother, but have been deeply touched by all the kind messages of support from her friends, fans, the public and media,” the brothers said.

“We would like to thank everyone, especially the people of Liverpool. The tributes and condolences have really helped us through these difficult times.

“The Spanish authorities have now told us we are able to bring Mum home, which we hope to do as quickly as possible.

“We would also like to thank all those involved for their assistance with this matter. We respectfully request for our continued privacy to grieve.”
