The death of a Dublin woman is being treated as a domestic incident by Gardaí.
Amanda Carroll was discovered dead yesterday afternoon in her apartment in Homestead Court, Cabra.
The 33-year-old had suffered marks to her head and neck that were consistent with a violent attack.
Carroll has two children - a five-year-old and a 16-year-old.
RTE reports that a 35-year-old man is being questioned by Gardaí in relation to Carroll's death.
The man received a rest period overnight meaning that he can be detained for a longer period of time.
Gardaí believe that the mother-of-two was attacked by somebody known to her.
A postmortem examination is underway to determine the cause of death.
