The story of one Ireland's most beloved national treasures, Donie O' Sullivan, airs on RTÉ on Tuesday night. Titled 'Donie O Sullivan:Capitol Man', the one-hour documentary details how Donie went from growing up in a small town in Co. Kerry to becoming an international name at CNN. The 30-year-old made headlines a year ago when he reported live from the US Capitol riots in January 2021. Impressing viewers with his bravery and reporting skills, Donie's name went viral. And he's only become even more successful since. Throughout the documentary, the reporter is set to explore his work debunking fake news and misinformation, the legacy of the Trump presidency, and the rise of QAnon and extreme-right groups in the US. He was nominated for an Emmy last year for his story on military reservist Maatje Benassi's role at the centre of a patient-zero conspiracy theory.
