Private cars will be completely banned from the area in front of College Green. This will result in a large open area in front of Bank of Ireland and the front gate of Trinity College.
Buses, the Luas, cyclists and possibly Taxi’s will be allowed access but private cars will not.
Suffolk street will also now be off limits, with only loading times permitted before 11 am.
Consultation with the public will begin next month, with city architect Ali Grehan insistent that any changes forthcoming will be made with the utmost care to historical buildings in the area.
