Are you reading Fifty Shades of Grey? If so, you may want to use protection. Not because Samantha Brick thinks that the book is a hazard to your health, but because it could…get you pregnant?
Eh…yes, apparently. In fact a leading Professor has predicted that the raunchy read will actually encourage a baby boom!
The Daily Mail reports that Professor Ellis Cashmore has predicted that we will all be seeing a spike in the number of new born babies next year, because women are devouring the naughty book and getting inspired to have some sexy times with the men in their own lives.
“With the millions of copies it has sold – it makes complete sense to assume that in nine months’ time we are going to see a baby boom,” he said.
“By the very nature of the subject matter I’m sure we can expect to see some couples revisiting and reigniting ideas that may have lain dormant for some time in the bedroom,” he added.
Professor Cashmore also said that the novel could very well “reawaken passions” or “accentuate the passions that already exist within relationships.”
“Previously we have seen a spike in pregnancies during World Cups but this time it looks like the girls are being inspired to get into the bedroom,” the Professor said.
So the next time you pick up your copy of Fifty Shades it might be a good idea to err on the side of caution, especially if you’re not planning on becoming a mother just yet.
