Gardaí appeal for witnesses of alleged sexual assault in Dublin on Sunday

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Dublin at the weekend.

The incident is believed to have happened on Sunday December 9 between 12.45am and 3.44am in the Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Merrion Road, and Serpentine Avenue areas of Dublin 4.

The injured party, a woman, described the male suspect as being “in his late twenties or early thirties, with a short beard, glasses, short dark hair and a short sleeved shirt.”

The alleged incident occurred in a car.

Gardaí in Irishtown are appealing for anybody with information relating to the following points to contact them:

  • Any persons who noticed anything suspicious in the following areas between 00.43hrs and 02.14hrs on Sunday the 9th of December 2018, Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Merrion Road & Serpentine Avenue, Dublin 4
  • Any persons who noticed anything suspicious in the Mountjoy Square area of Dublin 1 between 02.14hrs and 03.44hrs on the 9th of December 2018
  • Any motorists with ‘dashcam’ footage relating to the above times and locations
  • Any other information
