Girl comes out as gay and has mic cut off during church speech
This took buckets of courage.
Having to keep a secret as big as being gay must be an extremely hard thing to do. Not being able to admit who you really are means you're not being true to yourself.
This girl from America knew she was gay from a very early age. When all her friends used to go on about meeting up with boys, she just knew that it wasn't for her.
She came out to her parents a year ago and felt that she needed to do the same to her fellow church goers and took it upon herself to read out a speech revealing her true identity.
The 12-year-old began by saying, “they did not mess up when they gave me freckles or when they made me to be gay. God loves me just this way. I want to grow up, have a partner, a great job and get married."
She went on to add that “I do not choose to be this way and this is not a fad. I cannot make someone else gay and I believe that God wants us to treat each other with kindness, even if people are different, especially if they are different.”

As she was mid-way through her speech, she had her microphone cut off and was asked "can you sit down" by two of the church leaders who were sitting beside the pew.
However, that wasn't going to stop her from coming out to everyone she knew and she took to social media and posted a video of the full speech including the last couple of sentences which she was unable to finish in the church.
"I had dreams of going to the temple and getting married and I was very sad when I found out that would not happen," she said before acknowledging in her closing sentence that "I know my earthly parents and heavenly parents love and accept me just the way I am."
