Home and Away’s Jessica Falkholt has been taken off life support, one day after the funeral of her parents and sister.

The 29-year-old actress and her family were involved in a fatal crash on Boxing Day, where her parents, Vivian and Lars, were instantly killed.

Her younger sister, 21-year-old Annabelle, passed away in hospital soon after.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Jessica’s life support was switched off on Thursday evening local time, one day after her parents and sister were laid to rest. A statement from the hospital reads:

“On behalf of the family of Jessica Falkholt, St George Hospital has been asked to advise the media and the community that Jessica’s life support has been switched off. She remains in a critical condition. The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.”

The Home and Away actress had been in an induced coma since the crash two weeks ago, which also claimed the life of the driver of the other car involved.

The family were thought to be driving home to Sydney after a short break over the holiday season when the crash occurred.

Vivian and Lars were tragically killed instantly in the crash, while Jessica and Annabelle were pulled from the car by bystanders.

Both of the sisters were rushed to local hospitals, but Annabelle tragically passed away days later.

Jessica underwent a number of surgeries, including having one of her kidneys and part of her skull removed, but remained in a coma.

The young actress had previously appeared as Hope Morrison on Home And Away in 2016.
