It's reportedly become a festive tradition as the actor has visited the hospital for the last couple of years. The down-to-earth star shows up with no photographers or fuss and generously brings gifts for the children.
Colin is always happy to pose for pictures as well as chatting with the young patients and their parents.
He is pictured here with patient Max Wenman and his dad who posted the picture on Facebook.
Max’s mum Cathy told TheJournal.ie that the Irish actor seemed “genuinely interested in interacting with the children and making the day even more special for them”.
She added: “I have been overwhelmed at how kind and generous people have been, between all the presents that have been sent in – to people bringing in breakfast rolls and Turkey & Ham on Christmas Day. It certainly brings home the true spirit of Christmas.”
