An four-year-old girl who disappeared during the 2004 Indonesian tsunami has been reunited with her parents after ten years.

According to ITV News, Raudhatul Jannah was four years old when she was carried off by a wave that struck her family home in Aceh province.

Her family said that they had almost given up hope of ever seeing her again when Raudhatul’s uncle spotted a girl walking to school in another village who looked remarkably like her.

It transpired that the girl had been found 80 miles away after the tsunami by a fisherman and was taken in by a woman who had raised her for the last decade.

The girl’s mother Jamaliah said that she had “prayed to God every night” for her daughter’s return.

“God has given us a miracle,” she said.

“My heart beat so fast when I saw her. I hugged her and she hugged me back and felt so comfortable in my arms.”
