Heartbreaking news today.

Steve Wall, whom many will recognise as an Irish actor and musician, has issued an emotional Facebook appeal after a car crash claimed the life of his three-year-old niece and left his brother fighting for his life.

After sustaining a brain injury in the crash, three-year-old Estlin lost her fight for life last night, just days from her fourth birthday and her father Vincent Wall remains unconscious in a Dublin hospital.

A fundraising page has been set up to help the family and currently, nearly €25,000 of the €40,000 target has been donated.

A statement published on the page describes how Vincent was taking his daughter to creche in Inagh on the morning of the horrific crash and how the tragedy has devastated the “communities of West Clare, particularly around Ennistymon and Lahinch”.

As the below posts explain, Amy, Estlin’s mother and Vincent’s wife, is nursing the couple’s twelve-week-old child Mannix whilst trying to deal with the unimaginable loss of her little girl.

An excerpt from the heartbreaking plea, published on the iFundraise page, reads:

“The doctors have said that Vinnie’s recovery will be a long road and it’s impossible to tell how his long-term condition will be. Many people have been asking how they can help, so we here in Ennistymon have set up this fund to provide Amy with some financial assistance for the difficult times ahead and Vinnie’s rehabilitation.

“Thank you to everyone in Co. Clare who has already contributed cash – this will all go into the same account in Ennistymon, which Amy will have sole access to. And thank you in advance to those who can contribute any amount, no matter how small. Feel free to share this with anyone who might know Vinnie and Amy”.
