Fundraising has been ongoing over the last 12 months to try and raise the necessary money for the beautiful little Dubliner.
Speaking this morning to Pat Kenny on Newstalk, her cousin Katie told how difficult it’s been and how she hopes that the song will raise the rest of the money needed to get her cousin the help she needs.
“Molly was diagnosed last year. She had pains in her stomach, and they never thought that it was anything to do with cancer,” she said.
“She’s six now and she went to school last week. She loves going to school,” explaining that Molly didn’t get to start school last year due to the diagnosis.
“She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastama, which is the worst stage as it’s at its most aggressive..some of the preventive treatments are not available in this country. We need to get her to America..We are half way there to reaching our goal (fundraising).”
The talented young singer/songwriter then performed live on the show, following on from her appearance last night on TG4.
“You’re just too young to go,” she sang. “Baby you need to grow and live a life of your own. You haven’t even started school, which makes it way more cruel.
“So we’ll have to hope, we’ll have to sit and pray that this news will go away.”
The 16-year-old stunned listeners with her astounding vocal, and the poignant lyrics tugged on heart strings around Ireland.
The song Just Too Young becomes available for download on iTunes this Friday. The Molly McNally Trust has been set up to raise money for the little girl and donating to the trust is very easy. You can find out more on their Facebook page.
Don’t forget – text MOLLY to 57802. Texts cost just €2. You can also download the song on iTunes this Friday
