"That'll will clear slightly this evening but there'll be more unsettled weather overnight with more warnings likely to be issued. "A Status Orange weather warning is likely to be issued as more disturbed weather is expected for Wednesday."They added that Storm Diana is going to be heading towards the west, which will increase the wind speeds and rainfall in the area. The current Met Éireann forecast predicts that Wednesday is going to be a "very windy day" with blustery, strong-to-gale force winds. According to forecasters, there's going to be some heavy rain or showers at times - particularly in the north and west. It'll be mild, though, with top temperatures between 13C and 15C - so at least there's that. The weather is going to continue to be "changeable" for the rest of the week, as the gales are forecast to ease up a bit on Wednesday night - although there will still be further spells of heavy rain. The forecaster said:
"Thursday will be cool and blustery with a mix of bright spells and occasional showers. The showers will be heavy and frequent over western counties, with the chance of hail. Southwest winds will be strong with further gale gusts. "Friday will be a brighter and mainly dry day. Some sunny spells, but there's still the chance of passing showers. It's going to be a cold day with slight frost after nightfall. "It'll continue very changeable over the weekend. There will be more rain on Friday night followed by a mainly dry Saturday. Yet more rain and strong winds expected next Saturday night and on Sunday."
