Madeleine McCann went missing when she was just 3 years old.

A new search has been launched in the Madeleine McCann case. Police have been searching the Barragem do Arade reservoir in Portugal following multiple tip-offs.

According to new reports, police discovered photos of the reservoir in suspect Christian Brueckner’s home.

The suspect reportedly refers to the reservoir as his “paradise”.

The search, which started this morning, is taking place just 30 miles from where Madeleine went missing in 2007. She has not been seen alive since she disappeared from Praia da Luz in May 2007. Madeleine was only three years old at the time of her disappearance.

Officers have never charged Christian Brueckner with her disappearance or murder but stressed that he is under investigation.

Brueckner, a convicted sex offender, is currently in prison in Germany after committing rape in 2005.

Officers believe prime suspect Christian Brueckner visited the area frequently. According to The Mirror, he used to call it his “little paradise”.

Police believe Brueckner kidnapped Madeleine McCann in May 2007. They also fear he murdered the young girl and do not expect to find her alive.

Brueckner has denied the police’s claims.
