Man in his 20s killed in Dublin car crash

The young man was taken to hospital where he later passed away.

A passenger in his 20s was killed in a car crash on the Sarsfield Road in Ballyfermot last night.

The crash occurred at 10:35pm.

The man was taken to St James’ Hospital where he passed away due to the serious injuries he sustained.

A postmortem examination on the man’s body is now due to take place.

Another passenger, a woman, also in her 20s, was brought to St James’ for treatment. According to Gardaí, her injuries are non-life-threatening.

The Sarsfield Road was closed last night to allow the Gardaí to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. It has since been reopened.

The authorities have now appealed for any witnesses to the crash, or any drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
