Police in Scotland has arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the death of Amber Gibson. The 16-year-old girl went missing on November 26th. Amber's body was found near Cadzow Glen in Hamilton shortly after 10 am on November 28th. Police confirmed a man is in custody in connection with Amber's untimely death. They were initially treating her death as "unexplained" but police in Scotland have now launched a murder investigation. "Police Scotland can confirm that a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of Amber Gibson," they said. "Enquiries are currently ongoing." Amber went missing from the Hamilton area on Friday, November 26th. Detective Superintendent Raymond Brown said: "Her family and loved ones are understandably devastated by this untimely loss." "Amber was a 16-year-old girl with her future in front of her." One local told the Daily Record, "It was all very quiet early on Sunday morning apart from few families and children enjoying the snowfall and building snowmen and having snowball fights in the Glen. Police suddenly appeared and cordoned off the park. Chief Inspector Briony Daye said they are keeping Amber's family and friends in their thoughts. A heavy police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues. "Anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken with officers please call 101, quoting incident 1281 of 28 November," Chief Inspector Daye added. Police in Lanarkshire has asked anyone with information to come forward.
